I have an urge and intending to start playing Wii SSB brawl first before touching on 3ds ver. Anyone knows whether classic controller can be used and play on Wii for this brawl title? I doesn't wish to use Wii remote to play it as lacking of buttons.

I don't have Wii yet so I cannot test it out. From internet, people say it works to use classic controller to play Wii SSB Brawl.

The Wii Remote + Nunchuk, Classic Controller, and GameCube Controller, are all compatible for Brawl. Though, keep in mind for the GameCube Controller that you want to make sure that it's an official product from Nintendo themselves, and not some third party knockoff. The reason behind that is because certain third party products was confirmed to not be recognized by Brawl whatsoever.
